How to adjust wheel alignment angles?

How to adjust wheel alignment angles?

1.Effect and consequences from various angles

>>>TOE:The front toe too large will cause the outer side tire in fast wear with the pattern is zigzag or block, and the radial tire in a similar positive camber. When you touch the inner tire to outer, you will feel a sharp feeling on the tire tread. Steering instability, bad straightness and trembling wheels. The positive toe too large will cause the inner side tire in fast wear with the pattern in zigzag or block, and the radial tire in a similar negative camber. When you touch the outer tire to inner, you will feel a sharp feeling on the tire tread. Steering instability, bad straightness and trembling wheels.
>>>Caster: When driving in the highway, if the caster too small will cause the vehicle unstable, the steering wheel hard to go back to original direction, the car body unstable when in high speed. The caster asymmetrical will cause the runningdeviation, and if the caster of the left and right wheel is above 0.5 degrees, the vehicle will run deviation.
>>>Camber: If the positive camber too large will cause the outer wheel edge tire wear, the parts of suspension system fast wear, the vehicle running deviation to the positivebigger camber side. If the negative camber too large will cause the inner wheel edge tire wear, the parts of suspension system fast wear, the vehicle running deviation to the negative?bigger camber side.
>>>Steering Angle:If the steering angle is not suitable, this will cause the tires side slip and wear, and the abnormal sound when turning.
>>>Shrink Angle:If the shrink angle in some?level, this will cause the vehicle running deviation to side of axle distance smaller.
>>>Thrust Angle:The thrust angle will cause the tire wear, turning failure, the steering wheel deviation, running deviation and the car body irregular straight running.

2.Inductive analysis of various symptoms:
>>>Factors causing the vehicle deviation:
(1).The caster of the front wheelsis asymmetrical?and the deviation is above5 degrees, which will cause the vehicle deviate towards?the side with the smaller caster.
(2).The camber of the front wheels is asymmetricaland the deviation is above5 degrees, which will cause the vehicle deviate towards?the side with the larger camber of the front wheels.
(3).The camber of the rear wheels is asymmetricaland the deviation is above5 degrees, which will cause the vehicle deviate towards?the side with the smaller camber of the rear wheels.
(4).The change of the vehicle wheelbase can be observed according to the shrinkangle of the front and rear axles. When the sum of the front?and rear shrink?angle exceeds 0.2 degrees, the vehicle will?run?deviation and?run towards?the side with a smaller wheelbase.
(5).In addition, belowfactors cannot be detected by wheel alignment:
(6).Side slip, mainly caused by tires
(7).Uneven tire pressure
(8).Braking asymmetryand?slipping.
(9).Unbalanced steering assistance.
(10).The parts of suspensionworn out and misaligned.

*Note: Since the wheel alignment machine cannot detect all the deviation reasons, sometimes we find the vehicle condition is normal according to?the machine, but the vehicle still deviate, so it?is necessary?to check?carefully?item by item. When we operate the wheel alignment, the vehicles?usually?keep normal or a slight deviation only, but?if the vehicles?deviate?or even?serious after adjusting the toe of front wheel, people?easily consider this happen?to the adjustment of toe; As a matter of fact, the toe always in the same position of the left and right wheel when vehicles run straight,?so the toe of front wheel does not deviate. If the toe of front wheels?is incorrect and the friction between?the tire and the ground increasing, which will cover up the deviation. In fact,?if the vehicles?deviate because of other reasons but the deviation covered up, the tires are worn up seriously. If we do not?analyze the deviation reasons but adjust the toe directly, the slight deviation?will reflect, so it is necessary to analyze and adjust comprehensively. (This is very important)

>>>The reasonsof tire wear:
(1).The front tire wear in theinside?tire or outside tire at the same time, caused by the toe of the front wheel incorrect.
(2).The front tire wear in one side of the front wheels , caused by the incorrect
(3).The rear tire wear, caused by incorrect camber and toe.
(4).Moreover, below factors cannot be detected by wheelalignment
(5).The drivers’bad driving habits.
(6).The higher tire pressure, the tire wear happens near the center line of the tire tread.
(7).The lower tire pressure, the tire wear happensboth sides of the tire.
(8).Something wrong with the parts of chassis

>>>The reasons of vehicle floating:the caster is close to zero or the caster is negative.
>>>The reasonsof steering wheel heavy:?The caster is too large and the camber is incorrect, and the suspension?parts are slight deformation.
>>>The reasons of steering wheelhard to be back to original direction: The caster is too smaller, something wrong with the steering gear, something wrong with the tires, and incorrect angles caused obstinacy.
>>>The vehicle rear end drifts when it is jolting orspeed up:Mainly cy the incorrect toe of the rear

3.Procedure VI:On the basis of data detection?by?four wheel alignment machine and the comprehensive analysis and diagnosis of the causes?of failure, the maintenance and adjustment?can be operated. The adjustment procedures as follows:

>>>Adjusts the two wheels of rear axlefirstly: the camber of rear wheel →?the toe of rear wheel
>>>Adjusts the two wheels of front axlesecondly: if the turning?direction is incorrect, replace the steering arm →?caster (Adjusts?the engine bracket firstly for the vehicles with engine brackets) →?camber?→?toe (Steering wheel locked in original direction)
